Project Brief

QRTagit is a mobile app that helps users keep track of their valuable items. The app allows users to add items to their inventory, track the location of their items, and mark items as lost. If an item is marked as lost, the app will send the user a notification if the item is found.

I collaborated closely with the senior UX designer to ensure the success of the project.

I was open to feedback, focusing on the user experience, communicating effectively, and working together to meet the deadline.

Also:

On average you spend 10 minutes a day to look for your phone, keys or other misplaced items (2.5 days per year)

12.000 laptops lost weekly in U.S. airports

120.000 phones lost yearly in taxicabs…in Chicago alone

How the app works

Found an item?

Finders scan the QRTag with their phone’s normal camera, no app necessary! They can easily chat with you through our website to get the item safely back into your slippery hands. You can even advertise a reward for the items return to sweeten the deal for the finder and incentivise them to get it back to you quickly.

Receive Notifications

Once you mark an item as lost you will be notified whenever the QRCode is scanned. Tapping the notification will take you to the app and allow you to easily communicate with the finder of your item. You can also see where the QRTag was scanned making it easier navigate back to your item.

Chat Feature

Lost items that have been scanned will allow you to communicate with the finder of the item. You’re in control of who can communicate with you through the app. Finders can no longer communicate with you once your item is marked. as returned.

Provide Rewards

You can provide a reward for finders willing to return your lost items. With a few taps you can add your promised reward and your finder will be able to claim that reward through our website without sharing any personal information.

Conclusion

Numerous revisions and adjustments were needed for both the user journey and the visual layout. As I lacked comprehensive knowledge of the technical elements involved in developing the scanning feature, I delved into additional research, which gave me valuable insights and enabled me to maintain simplicity while considering the needs of both users and developers.
